“ Super close to the interstate & gasoline! Holiday Inn & Courtyard Marriott within 2 minute walk! Fully stocked salad bar-comfort food-feature of the day and desserts! Wide variety of menu selections and kids menu. Super kind staff & very clean restrooms. Nostalgic & super nifty to support a 60 year old or more concept. Was locally started and still thriving. Adorable gift shop area for tourist and great for gifts! Pies ready for purchase. Some fun games for the kiddos. Only thing missing was some ambiance music. Our server Jessica was attentive and quick. The buffet was replenished often. Close to the Charleston Coliseum for shows and the downtown is within moments. Go support some home style Americana! Loved it! ”
“ A rather inexpensive restaurant chain which is primarily in the southeast. Shoney's shines in delivering good quality food at a reasonable price. While there I got the famous fudge cake, along with a cookie skillet they sold. The meal in total was just over 10. The taste of both desserts were amazing and satisfying. Furthermore the atmosphere of the restaurant was great too: decorated in red, white, and blue, giving off a patriotic and homey feel. Wonderful! ”
“ Shoney's the way it has always been. Great buffet, good food, and solid desserts. While the building is aging a little bit, quality has not been compromised. The wait staff is excellent and the food is good and inexpensive compared to the other restaurants that have raised their prices. The buffet is well maintained, food is kept hot, filled, and we saw the floor get mopped twice during the hour we were there. ”
“ Went in for lunch and while our server was quite busy, the lunch buffet was amazing! I'm pregnant and haven't been able to eat red meat in months due to being pregnant and baby not agreeing. My fiance ordered a steak add on and I tried some, we ordered a second steak just for me because the baby allowed me to eat it! Definitely will be returning. ”
“ I was impressed with this place, the employees were really great, especially the young lady who made me a chocolate shake that wasn't on the menu, she was more than happy to do it. Nowadays you kind of expect an attitude if you ask for something else. This to me is the sign of good leadership and happy employees. Thanks guys, stay kind and pleasant in a world filled with ugly and hateful. ”
“ Some of my earliest memories are at the long-shuttered Shoney's in Beckley, so coming back was a nostalgia trip if nothing else. We came for Valentine's Day, and they had a special buffet - 40 for two people, including a slice of cake at the end! The buffet had steak and seafood on it, and everything was exactly as I remembered it from childhood. Great food at a reasonable price - in an era of upscale pretentious food, the down home charm of Shoney's is a breath of fresh air. ”
“ Very good food awesome service and great atmosphere the Decker is very homey and Country ”
“ What a great experience! I haven't been to Shoney's in years and this was my husband's first time ever, and it was wonderful! We were greeted first thing inside the door by a very friendly young man, and our waitress was an absolute gem Everyone that we encountered was super friendly and helpful and the team stocking the buffet was really on their game. The food was fresh and hot and we ate until we couldn't eat anymore thank you for being just as awesome as I remember from all those years ago and giving my husband a great first meal too.We will be back every time we drive through! ”
